Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return (TNVR)
Humane, Responsible Solution
Through TNVR, cats are safely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped, and returned to their original location.
How We Help Keep Community Cats Safe
At A Kitten Place, we humanely trap, spay/neuter, vaccinate, and safely return community cats so they can live healthier lives without adding to overpopulation in the Tampa Bay area.

Trap
Cats are humanely trapped using safe, vet-approved traps. Trapping is temporary and minimizes stress.

Neuter & Spay
Each cat is spayed or neutered to prevent future litters and reduce roaming and fighting.

Vaccinate
Cats receive core vaccines, including rabies, helping protect both cats and people.

Ear-Tip
A small, painless ear-tip marks cats that have already completed TNVR so they are not trapped again.

Return
After recovery, cats are returned to their original location where they are familiar with food sources and shelter.

Our TNVR Work
A Kitten Place is actively involved in TNVR efforts throughout the greater Tampa Bay area, working behind
the scenes to reduce suffering and prevent endless cycles of kittens born outdoors.
Our TNVR work includes:

Identifying and assisting community cat colonies

Coordinating humane trapping efforts

Partnering with veterinarians and spay/neuter clinics

Supporting caregivers with education and resources

Helping friendly cats and kittens transition into foster care and adoption when appropriate

Tracking colony health and population trends
Why TNVR Matters
TNVR works because compassion works—protecting cats, strengthening communities, and saving lives humanely.
Without TNVR
- One cat can produce thousands of kittens over just a few years
- Many kittens are born into unsafe conditions with no medical care
- Local shelters and rescues become overwhelmed
- Caregivers and neighbors face ongoing challenges
With TNVR
- Colonies naturally shrink over time
- Cats are healthier and protected
- Communities experience fewer complaints and concerns
- Lives are saved without relocation or euthanasia
How You Can Help
Together, we can protect homeless cats and kittens while building a kinder community.
Help Us Save More Kittens
A Kitten Place is 100% volunteer-run, so every dollar you give goes straight to saving vulnerable kittens and cats and helping them find loving homes.
Even a small gift of $5 or $10 makes a real difference — it can provide food, litter, medicine, or a warm, safe place to grow.
