About Us

A Kitten Place was formed as a completely volunteer based animal rescue organization, for the purpose of rescuing orphaned kittens and homeless cats in our nearby communities. We take the kittens into our homes, provide veterinary care and oftentimes critical care, food, shelter and socialization until the kittens reach an adoptable age. Once the kittens are vetted and sterilized, we find suitable homes for them either through social media postings or through in person adoption events.

A Kitten Place focuses our efforts on rescuing the most vulnerable group in county shelters, the neonatal kittens. These kittens are euthanized on a DAILY basis at local shelters, even if they are completely healthy and viable, simply due to the lack of resources the shelters have to care for these special needs kittens. The kittens at this age often need to be bottle fed and stimulated around the clock. Although neonates are a population that we feel compelled to save, we also rescue cats that are pregnant or have recently given birth as well as older kittens that may have critical medical needs.

The volunteers at A Kitten Place have a unique desire and dedication to help the helpless, the most critically in need cats and kittens, no matter the time it requires to bring them to good health and find them loving homes, and no matter the cost.

We also make every effort to participate in TNVR (Trap, Neuter, Vet and Return) opportunities in our communities, as we understand that sterilizing the stray and homeless cats is the true answer to making an impact on the cat overpopulation crisis. We rely solely on the general public for donations of supplies and monetary donations to care for the cats/kittens in our foster program and we operate out of our own homes to care for them.
